Context-Building Notifications
After every decision, DelegateZero analyses the outcome for missing or thin context - unknown entities, low-confidence domains, escalation triggers - and generates targeted questions to help you fill those gaps. These questions appear in the dashboard and, optionally, in email.
How Questions are Generated
Questions are generated only when a meaningful gap signal exists: confidence below threshold, an escalation outcome, or a reason citing missing, unknown, or stale context. If the decision was handled confidently with no gaps, no questions are generated.
Each question is specific and judgment-oriented. Rather than "who is this person?", the system asks something like "this is the third decision involving Acme Corp and you haven't added them as an entity - what is the relationship and what outcome do you usually want when they reach out?" Quality over volume. One sharp question a week is worth five vague ones.
Between one and three questions are generated per decision, tied to the decision ID, a context type (entity, policy, playbook, precedent, or template), and a status of unanswered.
Dashboard Notifications
Unanswered questions appear in the Needs You panel on every dashboard load, labeled with a Context Gap badge. Each question shows the original decision it came from so you understand why you are being asked. You can answer inline - the text field is right there. When you submit, the answer is written directly into the appropriate context type and the question is marked answered.
A confirmation appears: "Answer saved - this will influence future decisions." This is a statement of fact, not encouragement. The answer is now live context.
Dashboard notifications are always on and not configurable.
Email Notifications
Two email options are available and configurable per user in Settings > Notifications:
- Real-time email - Sent immediately after questions are generated. Off by default.
- Weekly digest - Sent every Monday, batching all unanswered questions from the past week grouped by context type. On by default. Skips send if no unanswered questions exist.
Both email types include the original decision request summarised as context, and a direct link back to the dashboard where you can answer. Answering by email reply is not supported - answers are always submitted through the dashboard.
Auto-Suppression
Per domain, if the last 10 decisions average confidence at or above 0.85 and the escalation rate is below 10%, question generation for that domain is automatically suppressed. DelegateZero is already handling it well and asking about it would be noise.
When a domain is suppressed, a note appears in the dashboard: "[domain] decisions are running at high confidence - no context gaps detected in this area." This makes the silence intentional rather than broken.
Answer Feedback Loop
When you answer a question and a similar decision is later handled autonomously without escalation, a Context Win notification appears in the dashboard. This closes the loop and demonstrates that the answer had a measurable effect.
Context-Building Notifications are available on all plans.
